Dr. Jeff Wilson aka "Professor Dumpster" is Dean of the University College and an Environmental Studies professor at Huston-Tillotson University in Austin. Professor Dumpster did post-doctoral work at Harvard and holds a PhD in Environmental Science from the University of Canterbury.
The Dumpster Project (http://dumpsterproject.org/) involves transforming a trash dumpster into a home as a sustainability education and performance art project. In his role as "Professor Dumpster," Wilson lived in an industrial-size dumpster -- on the campus of Huston-Tillotson -- for a year, and still vacations there from time to time. Beyond dumpster diving, Professor Dumpster has lived, worked and "couchsurfed" through over 60 countries on six continents. He is currently couchsurfing through 99 Austin homes in order to explore what makes a home in Austin as part of the 99 Nights ATX experiment (http://www.99nightsatx.com/).
